AIA/UDC Meetings for 2002 – 2004:

11/2004 Speaker: Nancy Sarnoff, Real Estate Reporter for the Houston Chronicle, is our guest and speaker at this month's Urban Design Committee lunch. The meeting offers an excellent opportunity to consider more dialog about architecture and the City in the news.

10/2004 Speaker: Joe Mashburn, Dean of the University of Houston Gerald D. Hines School of Architecture, meets with our group to discuss some of the urban projects going on at U of H. Joining Dean Mashburn will be Susan Rogers, a University of Houston grad with an MARCH and a Masters in Community Development from UCAL Berkeley. Rogers has been recently appointed to lead what the Dean described as their new "Community Design Center." Plan to join us to hear about what promises to be an exciting new program at the University of Houston.

9/2004 Speaker: General Manager of the Energy Corridor District. The ECD is the local government contact for TXDOT on the I-10 enhancement project. Clark has agreed to bring some of the plans and landscape drawings for our discussion. He has also been focused on coordinating utility relocations in the corridor with associated improvements to sidewalks and landscaping that will soon impact Eldridge Parkway. Connections are planned for the territory between the dam at Bear Creek Park and several hike and bike trails to the south.
