Michael G. Meyers Student Design & Scholarship Competition:
In previous years, students have been asked to design a music hall of fame, a bike shop, a home of the future, and many other challenging projects. This year, the challenge is to design a new Fire Station No. 1.

The Michael G. Meyers Committee (MGMC) makes every effort to recruit awards judges with unique qualifications that pertain to the specific design problem that the students are asked to solve. An informal awards program is held in April to honor all of the participants and allow students to meet members of the design profession, not necessarily limited to architecture.

Eligibility: All Houston area high school students are eligible to participate regardless of class affiliation or age. Entrants are requested to enter only once per year as a member of a team or as an individual. Teachers and Counselors are encouraged to promote this event as a serious scholarship competition with an emphasis on creative problem solving and graphic presentation.
