Announcing the 2011
Michael G. Meyers Student Design & Scholarship Competition:
The Michael G. Meyers Student Design & Scholarship Competition is an annual event sponsored by the Houston Chapter of AIA and local architectural firms and affiliates. This is an ideas competition with an emphasis on creative problem solving and graphic presentation.

In previous years students have been asked to design a soccer stadium, a fire station, a recycling center, and many other challenging projects. We will announce this year's program in January, at the Architectural Workshop.

The Competition Committee will host a series of events to help the students learn basic architectural drawing skills and understand the competition requirements. In April the winners will be announced and an awards ceremony will be held at the Architecture Center (AIA Houston office).

Eligibility: All Houston area high school students are eligible to participate regardless of class affiliation or age. Entrants are requested to enter only once per year as a member of a team or as an individual. Teachers and Counselors are encouraged to promote this event as a serious scholarship competition.

Deadline: 21 April 2011 . Thursday . 5:00pm
