How much are the dues?

Architects and Associates must join local, state, and national AIA to become a member. Emeritus membership is free. Renewing members must pay the amount in Table 1.
We encourage all those in the design/construction industry to join AIA Houston as an Affiliate Firm member.

Where can I buy paper Contract Documents?

There are 3 ways to receive AIA paper Documents

1. Order by phone (713-520-0155, ask for Ana) and have them shipped to you. Shipping charges will depend on how soon you need them.

2. Order by phone (713-520-0155, ask for Ana) and send a courier for same day delivery.

3. Pick them up at our offices. You can call ahead (713-520-0155, ask for Courtney) - and your documents will be waiting for you when you arrive!

What are the CES requirements for Architects?

All registrants must complete at least 8 Continuing Education Program Hours (CEPH) per renewal period.

• All 8 CEPH must include the study of subjects related to your profession and be pertinent to the health, safety, and welfare (HSW) of the public. 
• At least one of the eight hours must be related to sustainable or energy-efficient design (SD)
• At least one of the eight hours must be related to barrier-free design. (Texas Accessibility Standards/TAS)
• At least five of the eight hours must be structured activities, (classroom/classroom equivalent)
• A maximum of three hours may be self-directed. (Self Reported)

AIA Members –

All active AIA members must successfully complete 18 learning unit (LU) hours each year

• At least 8 of the 18 LU hours relating to health, safety, and welfare (HSW). 
• Of the 8 HSW, at least 4 credits must be in sustainable design (SD) topics.

How can I advertise a job opening with AIA Houston?

Single listings on our job board are $45.00 for members and $65.00 for non-members. We will remove your posting at your request any time during that period. Email information to courtney@aiahouston.org


How can I change my firm information under "Find a Firm" on the AIA Houston website?

You must have your AIA Houston password to change your information. Go to the "Find a Firm" section and click on "edit your profile." You may make changes at any time. If you do not have your password, email courtney@aiahouston.org.
