ABOUT THE HOME

On an odd and undersized lot, with residential properties only on the north side and an apartment complex on the south, this house maximizes its outdoor space through the thoughtful use of a courtyard, balconies, and roof deck. Designed for entertaining, the house is flipped upside-down by common standards. The most private spaces are at the bottom, sheltered behind a courtyard wall and a 300-year old gate allowing the public entertaining spaces to be moved to the top floor. Twelve foot ceilings and expansive postcard-like views of downtown Houston allow for an interior space that always feels connected to the energy of the city.
